ABOUT THE ARTISTPicture of Natasha Masciarelli

As the owner and sole graphic designer of Dreamation Productions, let me start by introducing myself - my name is Natasha Masciarelli and I’m an award-winning, multimedia graphic artist with over 20 years of experience in marketing, corporate branding, web design and programming, print media, logo design, flash animations, video productions, and 2D and 3D line-art illustrations.

I began my career in graphic design in 1997, shortly after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelors degree in Journalism. Now you might be asking, "What does Journalism have to do with graphic design?" Well, a lot actually.

I have always loved creative writing, but my real passion was discovered while taking classes in page layout and design at the University of Florida. This is where I learned the fundamentals of laying out visually-appealing pages for magazines and newspapers, as well as designing logos and advertisements.

My first job after graduating was working for a local television station in Gainesville, Florida. It was here that I honed my skills in print, web and video graphics, and later learned how to produce TV commercials and station promos, as well as writing commercial scripts and story boards.

2003 Marion County Florida ADDY Award

From there I went to work for a local web development company in Ocala, Florida. It was here that I really expanded my knowledge in commercial web development, where after having worked there a little over a year, won 4 Silver ADDY Awards for web site design as one of the lead designers.

In 2003, I accepted a position working for the UF/IFAS Marion County Extension Service, where I was able to pull together and use all of my expertise and creative design to help market and more familiarize the public about this wonderful organization.

In early 2012, I began the process of developing my own freelance graphic design company, Dreamation Productions.

What's the meaning behind the name?

Some of you might be wondering where I came up with the name Dreamation Productions. To put is simply, it's the merging of two words, dream and animation. Why those words? Well to start, every great idea begins in the mind. And it usually requires a bit of thought (or day dreaming) to really formulate and nurture those ideas. Animation is the process of making inanimate objects appear to "come to life." By combining the last half of the word 'animation' to the word 'dream', I've translated the meaning into, 'making visions (dreams) come to life.' Which is in essence what a good graphic designer can do - transform the ideas or thoughts from a client into digital media.
